Welcome to Ghizer, Gahkuch—the crossroads between Gilgit and Chitral and also along the route to Tajikistan. It is surrounded by spectacular scenery, and a glassy river meanders through the valley. Ghizer is a multi-ethnic district, and 3 major languages are spoken here. Ishkoman Valley (65 km. away from capital) separates the Karakorum and the Himalayan mountain ranges. Ghizer is the perfect site for hiking/trekking and for 1-2 day camping adventures in alpine meadows, not far from ancient glaciers.
Kargah is at a distance of 10 km from the city of Gilgit. It has a giant image of Buddha carved into a cork wall dating back to the 8th or 9th century, AD. A river flows between the mountains, offering a stunning view. If you like trout fishing, then down below, in the crystal-clear, glacier- melted water is the right place, as there are loads of trout in the river!
If you are an adventure lover, then you should not miss out on the experience of the Danyore Suspension Bridge. The bridge was constructed over a half century ago and is a heroic feat of engineering. It enters a tunnel constructed by locals without any proper civil engineering equipment. So, be ready for the thrill!

Naltar is 40 km. from the city of Gilgit and is famous for skiing in the winter. Naltar is a dense, pine-forested valley, surrounded by towering snow-layered mountains and landscapes. This inviting region awaits you with luxuriant green vegetation, which is the abode of a variety of wildflowers of all colors of the rainbow, and the echo of a myriad of bird species to boost!
